LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Early voting is the ticket

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I am outraged by what the administration is doing to diminish our rights to vote through diminishing the ability of our U.S. Postal Service to be able to handle voting by mail. I have contacted my senators and representative to let them know they must defend this critical institution and encourage all to do the same.

Meanwhile, although we are now seeing/hearing more from some leaders and media about this, we, the people, must be vigilant about how to make our votes more secure at the local level.

One obvious way to avoid the problem with the mail, until this is sorted out (pardon the pun) is to get out and vote early!

My wife and I rarely go out and always wear masks when we do, and we don’t plan to vote on Nov 3. We do plan to vote early in the morning at early voting when we know that we can be much safer, with masks.

We were going to send in our ballot by mail, but have realized that the best way for us is early voting.
