Two requests made in the public comment section were approved at the September regular meeting of the Oakboro Town Council.
Dorothy Jackson requested the town establish a four-way stop at the crossroads of Center and West Fourth streets, saying she lives nearby and wanted to protect kids riding their bikes on the roads.
Commissioner Chris Huneycutt made a motion to approve the new four-way stop, seconded by Latoya Jackson, and the motion passed.
One block from the new four-way stop, an additional four-way was approved by the council at College and West Fourth. Huneycutt made that motion, seconded by Mike Efird, and the motion passed.
