During the two weeks students will be working remotely from home, the school system will not be serving meals.

Stanly County Schools Child Nutrition Director Mandy Melton said families have been directed to the services provided by the Stanly Community Christian Ministry. She noted that social workers will also work with families to address their needs.

Hot meals will be offered daily for families at both SCCM Community Table locations —512 S. First St., Albemarle, and 227 N. Kendall St., Norwood, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Breakfasts will be served, via drive-thru pickup, three days a week starting Oct. 19 and ending Oct. 30 at First Baptist Church, 202 N. Second St., Albemarle. Distribution days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
