Health Department will offer drive-thru flu shot clinics

The Stanly County Health Department on Thursday announced dates for its drive-thru flu shot clinics.
“The COVID-19 pandemic makes it even more important that everyone get a flu vaccine this year,” Health and Human Services Director Dave Jenkins said. “Both the flu and COVID-19 affect the lungs which can lead to pneumonia and other serious health issues or even death.”
The Stanly County Health Department is providing drive-thru flu shot clinics to the public.
Medicare part B, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna and United Healthcare insurances are accepted. Flu vaccines will be $30 for those not covered by insurance.
These clinics will take place at the Stanly Commons, 1000 N. 1st St., Albemarle, under the blue carports (on the hospital side).
Appointments are required and can be made by calling 704-986-3099.
Clinics will be 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, 1-4 p.m. Oct. 22, 1-4 p.m. Oct. 27, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 29, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 3, 1-4 p.m. Nov. 5, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 10 and 1-4:30 p.m. Nov. 12.
