The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Albemarle Rotary Club, has been working on a Reverse Raffle fundraiser scheduled for the first Saturday in November.

After weeks of planning, and monitoring state guidelines and Covid related numbers in the county, the committee has decided to proceed with the event as a virtual Facebook Live opportunity.

The reverse raffle portion of the event will take place at the scheduled time, being broadcast live from Market Station in downtown Albemarle. In addition to the grand prize of $3,000, second prize of $1,000 and third prize of $500, gift certificates from local restaurants and vineyards will be given away.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 7. All winners will be notified by phone within 24 hours of the event.

A silent auction had also been planned as part of the evening’s events. The packages that have been provided as auction items will be available for viewing on the Chamber’s website and Facebook pages.

These items will be showcased the week leading up to the event, with bidding continuing until the Friday after the event. Anyone is allowed to bid on these great items (not exclusive to ticket holders).

Package themes include Grill Night (includes a Blackstone griddle top grill); Health & Fitness (includes running shoes, healthy goodies, YMCA membership and weight loss program); Outdoorsman Package (includes rental of everything needed for a weekend campout and passes to Carolina Treetop Challenge); Lady of Luxury (includes jewelry item courtesy of Starnes Jewelers, a two-hour home-cleaning service, spa treatment basket, lounge-about goodies); Bed & Breakfast Package (comforter set, Sutera pillow, coffee and breakfast goodies, coffee maker); Golf Day Away (round of golf, two Columbia windbreakers, two Toad Fish can coolers, Corner Supermarket gift certificate); Spring Sunset & Sushi Dinner Cruise; Warm & Welcoming Package (includes an Adirondack chair) and stone fire pit kit. Full details, descriptions and photos of all silent auction items will be posted to the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and website. Bidding will end Nov. 13.

Only 300 tickets will be sold. Tickets are still available and may be purchased through the Chamber office until Nov. 6. Call 704-982-8116 if you would like to support these two organizations.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Albemarle Rotary Club’s support of the Stanly County YMCA Pavilion renovation project for a new kitchen and the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing programs, initiatives and member support and education.
