BADIN NEWS: Churches continue to adapt

Town Business

Town Council meets at 7 tonight at the Badin Conference Center. Visitors are welcome and everyone is asked to wear masks and observe safety guidelines.

Town Hall offices will be closed Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day.

Badin Churches

The following churches will continue to meet indoors on Sunday while observing all safety guidelines: Badin Presbyterian at 10 a.m.; Badin UMC at 11 a.m.

The following churches will hold drive-in Sunday services outdoors: Bethel UMC at 9:30 a.m.; Stony Hill at 10:30 a.m. (and via Facebook Live); Palestine UMC at 11 a.m.

The following churches will hold online Sunday services: Badin Baptist will meet at 9 a.m. via Zoom for Sunday School and at 10 a.m. via Facebook Live for worship. First Baptist will meet for Sunday School at 10 a.m. and for worship at 11 a.m. via Facebook Live.

Thanksgiving Meals

Love Thy Neighbor is planning the 5th Annual Community Thanksgiving meal for Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Isiah Westbrook Center, 507 Roosevelt St., Badin. All meals will be carry-out and free to the community. Parking spaces will be marked off for anyone wishing to eat drive-in style.

Palestine’s Love Thy Neighbor is also offering a carry-out meal on Thanksgiving evening, Nov. 26, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Soul Food & Grace Place, 132 Church St., Albemarle.

Morrow Mountain

The Park’s new hours of operation for November are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Beginning Dec. 1, the Park will close at 7 p.m.
