Badin UMC
The church will hold the traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. Come enjoy special music and share communion.
Stony Hill UMC
The weekly Prayer Walk around Badin Elementary is 9-10 a.m. Wednesday. All are welcome to participate.
Drive-up Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and accessible through Facebook Live. The church Reopening Taskforce is making plans for a projected reopening on Jan. 3, 2021.
Badin Presbyterian
The church continues gathering indoors for its 10 a.m. Sunday worship services, and asks everyone to wear masks and observe the seating arrangement due to continued concerns about spreading the Covid virus.
Palestine UMC
Love Thy Neighbor will be serving carry-out dinners Thanksgiving evening, Nov. 26 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Soul Food & Grace Place, 132 Church St., Albemarle.
Palestine UMC is now meeting indoors for Sunday worship at 10 a.m. Please wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
Morrow Mountain

A ranger-led hike on the family friendly 0.6-mile Quarry Trail is planned for Friday at 11 a.m. Registration is required so please email Park Ranger Alden Early at alden.early@ncparks.gov.
A program about “North Carolina Winter Preppers” will be given Saturday from 10- 11 a.m. in the Morrow Mountain Park Lodge. Come hear about the preparations animals are making for winter. Registration is required via email with Park Ranger Ryan Swikle at Ryan.Swikle@ncparks.gov.
Better Badin, Inc.
Many thanks to Jenny Henderson and the Better Badin crew for recently hanging garland and wreaths around the town’s commercial district. Traditional Badin Christmas activities have been curtailed, but the Badin Christmas tree is expected to make its appearance.
Better Badin volunteers will meet Dec. 14 at Loafers and Legends on Falls Road at 6:30 p.m. More help is needed for 2021 events still in the planning stages.
Town Business
Town offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Leaf collection is underway and the street-by-street schedule is available at www.badin.org. Limb and brush pickup will be Dec. 1. All materials should be curbside before 8 a.m. on scheduled day.
Town Council’s next meeting is Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Badin Conference Center.
