Badin Town Council swears in new member, chooses mayor, mayor pro tem

The Badin Town Council swore in a new member to the council and decided who would serve as the town’s mayor and mayor pro tem at Tuesday’s meeting.

Demar Huntley, who won election to the board in November as a write-in candidate, was sworn in by Clerk of Court Michael Huneycutt, while Gary Lowder was sworn in after being reelected.

Anne Harwood was again chosen to be mayor of the town while Deloris Chambers was named mayor pro tem, both done by ballot unanimously.
