Man in critical condition following shooting

A man is in critical condition following a shooting Sunday.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Albemarle Police officers responded to South Morrow Avenue and East Main Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, the victim was located sitting in a vehicle at the stop sign on South Morrow Ave with a gunshot wound to the head.

Stanly County EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Atrium Health- Stanly.
Upon investigation, detectives were able to issue warrants for the arrest of Bryan S. Thomas, 38, for attempted first degree murder. Thomas is considered armed and dangerous.
