Albemarle Police arrest suspect on attempted murder charge
Albemarle Police officers arrested the suspect Tuesday for a shooting that happened Sunday night.

Bryan S. Thomas, 38, was arrested for attempted first degree murder. He was taken to Stanly County Jail and is under a $500,000 secured bond for his release.
His first scheduled court appearance is 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers responded after 5 p.m. Sunday to South Morrow Avenue and East Main Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, a victim was located sitting in a vehicle at the stop sign on South Morrow Avenue with a gunshot wound to his head. Stanly County EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Atrium Health-Stanly. He is in critical condition.
