Health Department reports nearly 700 active cases of COVID-19

Stanly County Health Department is monitoring 679 positive individuals for COVID-19 as of Thursday.
There have been 4,421 total positive cases since the pandemic began in Stanly, and there are 25 hospitalizations and 90 deaths. Four cases of reinfection have been confirmed. A reinfection means an individual has tested positive for COVID at least 12 weeks after their first infection.
For the week of Dec. 20-26, there was a 10.7 percent positivity rate.

The Locust testing site at Stanly Community College – Crutchfield will be closed for the holidays until Jan. 4.
