The Richfield Town Commissioners conducted an organizational meeting Tuesday night to determine which board members would serve the town in various ways.

Newly-elected Commissioner Barry Byrd will be in charge of zoning while Christy NeCaise will have streets and beautification duties. Mary Shaver will have budget and finance while Jason Ritter will continue to be in charge of parks and recreation.

The council did not choose a replacement for Terry Almond, but Town Administrator Carolyn Capps said she anticipated one would be nominated at the board’s regular meeting Jan. 25.

No other actions were taken at the meeting, although one motion made by Byrd to increase commissioners’ monthly salaries from $75 to $107 did not receive a second and failed.
