South Stanly women’s basketball ends losing streak with home win

The South Stanly women’s basketball team ended a three-game losing streak this season and earned the team’s first recent win over cross-county rival Albemarle.

South outscored the Bulldogs 20-4 in the first quarter and never looked back, earning a 63-19 win over Albemarle.

Jacy Noble scored eight of her game-leading 16 points in the third quarter for South (2-3, 1-2 YVC) while Sadie Lee knocked down a trio of 3-pointers to add 14 points for the Bulls.

Riley Davis, Somajhe Porter and Tahmya Sellers scored four points each to lead the Bulldogs (0-2, 0-2).

South Stanly will host North Rowan Tuesday while Albemarle hosts North Stanly, who won over South Davidson Friday night, 61-45.
