South Stanly men’s basketball ends five-gave slide

After losing five games to open the season, the South Stanly men’s basketball team ended the losing streak Friday night at home to Gray Stone.

Two explosive offensive quarters in the middle of the game helped lift the host Rebel Bulls to a 63-35 win over the Knights.

Carson Lowder led South (1-5, 1-3 YVC) with 17 points, including nine in the third quarter, while Brandon Teller added 15 points.

Leading 13-10 after one quarter, South Stanly outscored Gray Stone (0-5, 0-5) 25-5 in the second period and 22-6 in the third en route to the win.

South Stanly will be on the road Monday at North Moore, who lost to North Stanly at home Friday night.

Gray Stone hosts North Rowan Monday night; the Cavaliers won at home Friday over Albemarle.
