Stanly under Winter Weather Advisory through Friday morning
The National Weather Service has Stanly County under a Winter Weather Advisory from midnight Wednesday until 7 a.m. Friday.
The forecast for Wednesday night includes a 100 percent chance of precipitation, with rain likely between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday, then freezing rain. The low will be around 32. The NWS predicts little or no ice accumulation.
Thursday’s forecast includes a 100 percent chance of rain or freezing rain turning into all rain after 4 p.m. The high will be near 33. Little or no ice accumulation is expected.
Thursday night, the precipitation will become all rain after 9 p.m. The low will be around 32 and little or no ice accumulation is expected.
The chance of rain exists Friday before 1 p.m. With a high near 47, Friday will be partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of precipitation. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are possible.
Friday night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 25.
