Falcons’ golf team claims win at Pfeiffer Invitational

The Pfeiffer University men’s golf team placed six golfers in the top-10 including the top three finishers in a dominating performance at the Pfeiffer Invitational.
The Falcons, improved on their day one total by firing a 296 on the second day, completing play with a 593 (+17). Division II Mars Hill took second place with a 642 (+66), 49 strokes behind the Falcons.
Individually, Pfeiffer swept the top three places, with Kevin Burris (Norwood, N.C.) matching his first round total of 70 (-2) finishing with a 140 (-4) and was the only golfer in the field that finished below par.
Freshman Elijah Todd (Roebuck, S.C.), carded a second round total of 73, finishing with a 148 (+4) while senior Pedro Torres (Guayaquil, Ecuador) claimed third with a total of 150 (+6) after completing round two with a 75.
Sophomore Ezekiel Sigmon (Connolly Springs, N.C.) tied for fifth place with a two-day total of 156 (+12). Wesley Page (Gibsonville, N.C.) and Devin Harwood (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.) also finished in the top-10, with Page taking seventh and Harwood claiming ninth place. Sophomore Bryce Pickard (Whitsett, N.C.), playing as an individual, rounded out the scoring with a 19th place finish while shooting a 171 (+27).
