Housing

The Albemarle City Council was considering a recommendation from the Albemarle Housing Authority for construction of 50 more units of low-rent public housing.

Unlike the Amhurst Gardens development, the proposed housing would include 24 single-family houses, with three bedrooms each, and 13 two-bedroom duplex units.

The housing would be for low income people and would be so located as not to provide the high density of population that exists in the Amhurst Gardens area. Around 10 sites were being studied as possible locations.
