An art display sponsored by the Stanly Arts Guild is now showing at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center.

Artist Paul Reed is a native North Carolinian and resident of Stanly County. He has enjoyed being creative and doing artistic projects all his life.

Some of his artistic endeavors include creating a life-size alien, building sets for vacation Bible schools at churches, painting murals for children’s rooms or painting landscapes. He has worked with many artistic mediums, but he most enjoys working with pen and marker. He has worked with the markers on and off for more than 20 years.

His inspiration comes from everyday events and experiences when creating. Art has been a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life as he worked as an electrician for years, and he is truly enjoying the time he has to devote to his artwork now in his recent retirement.
