William Peach University scored in the 104^th minute off a rebound to take a 2-1 double-overtime win over Pfeiffer University in a USA South women’s soccer match at the WakeMed Soccer Complex in Cary on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
After battling to a scoreless tie in the first half, WPU struck first in the 51^st minute when Raine Greene received a pass from Kyra Delaney and was able to chip a shot over Pfeiffer goaltender Madison Riddle (Advance, N.C.).

Pfeiffer scored to knot the match in the 73^rd minute when freshman Chloe Johnson (Fort Mill, S.C.) notched her first career goal on a low shot through traffic from the top of the box.

Neither team would be able to score the rest of the way, until Gabrielle Jones’ shot off a rebound found the net in the second overtime period, providing the golden goal and sending WPU to the win.

Pfeiffer held a 26-10 advantage on shots and a 6-1 cushion on corner kicks on the afternoon.
