Auria Solutions to expand Albemarle facility

Auria Solutions, one of the world’s largest suppliers of automotive flooring, acoustics and other fiber-based products, will be expanding its operations in Albemarle and adding 18 jobs and $1.66 million in machinery and equipment within the next 12 months.
Public hearings for local incentives were conducted on March 15 for the City of Albemarle and Stanly County. The goal of local incentives is to encourage new investment and induce job creation.
The incentive is estimated to be around $28,000, with estimated city revenues to be almost $19,000 over a five-year period.
“The City is pleased to work with Auria and the County to bring this consolidation project to the Albemarle facility,” Mayor Ronnie Michael said. “The incentive package offered to Auria is performance-based, as the company will transfer 18 jobs and invest more than $1.66 million in taxable new building improvements, machinery and equipment. Albemarle has experienced unprecedented growth over the last four years and several large developments are in process in the city. We are thankful for Auria’s commitment to the city and we look forward to even more success and growth at Auria in the future.”
Auria consists of 25 manufacturing facilities; 10 commercial, engineering and testing and tooling facilities, with approximately 5,000 employees globally, as well as interest in three joint ventures. The product line includes highly-engineered automotive acoustics solutions for interior noise reduction, fiber-based and compression-molded flooring products and other fiber-based interior products, including package trays, trunk trim and wheel arch liners.
