Badin Sunrise Service

The community is invited to the annual Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday at Badin Lake. Pastor B.J. Bowers of Badin Baptist will lead this year’s service. Due to Covid-19 concerns there will be no fellowship breakfast this year.

Pastor Kaye Fry invites the community to an Easter egg hunt 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. All children, from toddlers to middle school age, are welcome.

The church will have its traditional sunrise service Sunday at 7 a.m. in the cemetery behind the church. The Easter worship service will be in-person at 10:30 a.m.

Easter Services

Badin Baptist, on Falls Road, is open for Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Badin UMC will have in-person worship at 11 a.m., 18 Hickory St.

Palestine UMC offers in-person worship at 11 a.m. Please arrive early for temperature checks and for seating. The service will also be broadcast to cars in the parking lot on 107.7 FM.

Badin Presbyterian will meet for worship at 10 a.m. and asks everyone to wear masks.

Resurrection Monday Music 

Everyone is invited to a Resurrection Monday Musical 2-4 p.m. Monday at the 1913 Badin Inn featuring Dexter Hinson directing the Community Men’s Chorus, The Gospel Gents of Mt. Gilead and Pastor Josh Ellerbe. Bring a chair and celebrate with friends and neighbors. This is a free event for the community. 

Community Yard Sale

Better Badin’s semi-annual community yard sale is April 10 in the Alcoa parking lot on NC Highway 740 from 7 a.m. to noon. A fee of $10 will be charged for a 10-foot by 10-foot space. Better Badin will also sell donated items for anyone not wishing to open a booth, with proceeds going to Better Badin. Coffee and biscuits will be sold.

The volunteer group is selling baked goods at the afternoon musical event at the Badin Inn on Monday. Help is needed. Contact President Frances Whalen to assist her with baking, packaging or selling.

The regular monthly meeting of the non-profit will be April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Loafers and Legends on Falls Road.

Town Business

The semi-annual Town Clean-up is April 12-15. Please check the town website www.badin.org for more details.

Town Council holds its regular monthly meeting April 13 at 7 p.m. at the Badin Conference Center on Falls Road. Masks are required.

Morrow Mountain

A tour of the Kron House is offered Sunday from 2-3 p.m. Masks are required.

Come Read-with-a-Ranger on April 10 from 1-2 p.m. Enjoy learning about beetle diversity and anatomy and making a beetle craft after reading A Beetle is Shy. Please email maggie.miller@ncparks.gov to reserve a spot. Masks are required.
