Atrium Health will host a free vaccination clinic from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Albemarle Medical Services, 105 Yadkin St., Albemarle, where officials will be administering up to 600 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Unlike the two-shot Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, people only need one dose of the J&J vaccine in order to be fully vaccinated. This marks the first time the J&J vaccine will be administered to residents in Stanly County.

Anyone 18 and older is eligible to receive the J&J vaccine.

Though people must have an appointment, anyone can register. They can do so by either setting upĀ a MyAtriumHealth account online (visit AtriumHealth.org/COVID19Vaccine for scheduling details) or by callingĀ 704-468-8888. No ID is required to make an appointment.

About a fifth of Stanly residents have already been partially vaccinated while almost 15 percent are fully vaccinated.
