Town Business
The Semi-Annual Town Cleanup is underway until noon Thursday. Public Works does a great job of hauling away discarded items in these categories: metal, household
goods, construction debris, and rimless tires. Check www.badin.org for a complete listing. Please separate items by category at the curb before 8 a.m. Anything left curbside seven days afterwards may be subject to a citation.
Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Badin Conference Center. Social distancing and masks are required.
Morrow Mountain
Seasonal hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for day area use.
Bat Appreciation Day is April 17. Ranger Alden Early will highlight myths and misconceptions about the nocturnal creatures. Everyone is invited to the amphitheatre from 6-7 p.m., but registration at alden.early@ncparks.gov and mask wearing is required.
Enjoy an exploratory hike around the Quarry Trail from 10-11 a.m. April 25 for Earth Day. Learn about tree life cycles and the many plants and critters hidden in plain sight. Please register with Ranger Miller at maggie.miller@ncparks.gov and wear a mask.
Badin Elementary
April 30 is the last day to buy Badin Elementary yearbooks. Check the school Facebook page for details.
Badin Library
Library hours have changed until July. The library is open 2-6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday. Please stop by and pick up craft kits for children or adults.
Historic Museum
The community is invited to a drop-in Open House 2-5 p.m. May 23 at the museum. The event will honor David Summerlin, founder, longtime Museum Board member, and Badin’s foremost historian, as well as other volunteers. Come see the new exhibits and additions to the various collections housed in three buildings.
Badin Churches
There are no announced changes to worship service times.
