The West Stanly Colts softball team finally was able to open play at its home field.

West, ranked fourth in the state in 2A by MaxPreps, continued its domination of the Rocky River Conference this season with an 18-0 three-inning win over Central Academy.

Senior pitcher Jordan Hatch struck out all nine batters for the Cougars.

Shelby Barbee, Rachel Efird and Kailey Furr all had home runs for the Colts (7-0, 6-0 RRC) with Barbee and Furr driving in three runs each. West had 11 hits in the game and took advantage of eight fielding errors by Central Academy.
