South Stanly softball stays perfect with wins

The South Stanly Rebel Bulls posted two wins this week to improve to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in Yadkin Valley Conference play.

South traveled to Uwharrie Charter Monday and earned a 7-2 victory.

Senior Emma Crump had a big night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Sadie Lee added a 3-for-4 night as well with a double and a home run, driving in three runs as well. Mary Hinson and Kassie Swink also added an RBI each for the Bulls.

Ali Glover started for South and allowed two earned runs on four hits in four innings of work with five strikeouts. Lee pitched three innings of relief and earned the win.

Thursday night, South hosted Albemarle, posting a 9-1 win. Glover threw a no-hitter over the game’s seven innings, walking two and striking out 14.

Sophomore Alexis Harward was 2-for-4 for the Bulls with a double and three RBIs while Lee added two hits, including a solo home run. Crump and Skyler Mauldin each drove in two runs in the win.

South Stanly plays at South Davidson Friday and travels to North Stanly next Tuesday.
