Full Moon

For the second consecutive year The Full Moon, student newspaper at Albemarle Senior High School, had been awarded first place by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

The school newspaper, printed by Press Printing Company, was given a score of 950 points out of a possible 1,000. Nancy Gamewell, faculty advisor, said that perfect scores were made on editorial content and mechanical makeup. The paper was judged on content, writing and editing, type sizes and other categories.

Allison Harris was editor of the paper. Working with her were Dane Perry, editorial editor; Carolyn Eury, sports editor; Jenny Rogers, feature editor; Sandy Kelley, business manager; and Buck Snuggs, promotional manager.

Secretary

Mrs. James H. Boyd had been named executive secretary of the Stanly County Mental Health Association and had assumed duties of the office.

Lodge

Albemarle Lodge 703 would observe the 10th anniversary of the organization here with a Ladies Night banquet April 18 in the cafeteria of Albemarle Senior High School.

Church

The congregation of Badin Baptist Church would honor its new minister, Rev. Robert Lee McColl, and his family a church reception.

Peace

Annette Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Flavie Thomas of Albemarle, was elected secretary and treasurer of the student government at Peace College in Raleigh, where she was a freshman.
