Race Track
The Stanly County Commissioners were scheduled to decide Wednesday night whether to permit the rezoning of a tract of land owned by Rev. and Mrs. Bradford Shaver on N.C. Highway 740.
The Shavers wanted to construct a go-kart race track on the property to provide recreation for the young people of that area. At an earlier hearing, a majority of property owners near the location appeared to be opposed to the race track, while a majority of other people were in favor of it because of their interest in go-kart racing.
