In accordance with USA South COVID-19 management protocols, the upcoming USA South baseball series at Methodist has been canceled.

Pfeiffer and Methodist were scheduled to play this upcoming weekend, April 30-May 1, in Fayetteville.

There are several other schedule updates involving various teams from across Pfeiffer athletics for the upcoming weekend.

On Friday, the No. 1 seed Pfeiffer softball team will host No. 2 seed N.C. Wesleyan in the first two games of the USA South East Division Championship Series. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Jack Ingram Field. Game two of the best-of-three series will start approximately 30 minutes following the completion of game one.  The third game of the championship series, if necessary, will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, the Pfeiffer men’s lacrosse team, also seeded No. 1, will host rival and No. 2 seed Greensboro College in the USA South East Division Finals. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Lefko Field.

Also on Saturday, Pfeiffer baseball will resume the March 30 game against William Peace University. That game was halted in the middle of the ninth with the score tied 21-21. The game will be resumed at 4 p.m.

Lastly, Pfeiffer baseball will also complete their three-game USA South series with Mary Baldwin University on Sunday. First pitch against the Fighting Squirrels will be at 4 p.m. at Joe Ferebee Field.

The USA South Outdoor Spectator Policy will be in effect for all home events this weekend on Pfeiffer’s Misenheimer campus. Attendance is limited to Pfeiffer students, faculty, staff, approved guests of Pfeiffer student-athletes and credentialed media outlets.

No visiting fans will be permitted on campus or around the Pfeiffer athletics complex.
