Town Council
The Council will have its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Badin Conference Center, 29 Falls Road, preceded by three public hearings. At 6:15 p.m.

Council will hear input on proposed fiscal year 2021-2022 budget. At 6:30 p.m. they will hear input on Holly Place parking and at 6:45 p.m., input on Nantahala St. parking restrictions. Visitors are asked to wear masks.

Historic Museum
Everyone is invited to a drop-in Open House 2-5 p.m. May 23 at the museum. The event will honor David Summerlin — founder, longtime Museum Board member and Badin’s foremost historian — as well as other volunteers. This is an opportunity for viewing new exhibits and additions to various collections which give more insight into Badin’s story.

Love Thy Neighbor
Palestine UMC’s community outreach is visiting Matthew’s Place on May 15 at 2 p.m. for a meal and fellowship.

Tour of Homes
Better Badin is planning a Tour of Homes — the French Connection on June 13 from 2-5 p.m. Tickets are $13 and now available at Loafers and Legends and Eventbrite. They’ll also be available at the 1913 Badin Inn the day of the tour. Ticket holders can tour six French-built homes and the 1913 Badin Inn will be the last stop on the tour. Watch this column for further information.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist is open for 10 a.m. Sunday worship each week. Bishop Tavaris Johnson, pastor, and First Lady Evangelist Whitnei Johnson invite the community to join them. The church is at 500 Sherman St.

First Baptist
All are welcome for Parking Lot Praise each Sunday at 11 a.m., 201 Wayne St. Sunday worship services are also available on Facebook Live.

Palestine UMC
The church is holding in-person Sunday worship services at 11 a.m. Please wear masks.

Morrow Mountain
The park Boathouse is now open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Please check the website www.ncparks.gov/morrow-mountain for details about life-jacket requirements and hourly and daily rental fees.
