Nurse aides complete training at SCC

Students recently completed the Nurse Aide Level 1 training program at Stanly Community College.

The NA-I program, or beginning of the multi-skilled NA certificate program, is a 160-hour program that includes intensive lecture/lab, a clinical component and state exam preparation.

Students learn patient care skills used in long-term care facilities, hospitals and home care agencies.

Additionally, students from local high schools were able to enroll in the Nurse Aide program offered through the Career and College Promise program.

Upon successful completion of this program, students can apply to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) state exam. Once the students have successfully completed this exam, they will be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry.

Students who successfully completed the Blended Learning Nurse Aide program include: Taylor Baker – Monroe, Taylor Furr – Kannapolis, Stephanie Mount – Charlotte, Amanda Olguin – Locust, Cheyenne Taylor – Richfield, and Heather Wood – Locust. Blended Learning Instructors for the program included Tessa Hartsell and Anissa Chapman.

Students who successfully completed the Blended Learning Nurse Aide program include the following: Ryan Barbee – Concord, Nicholas Fisher – Albemarle, Knyia Little – Albemarle, Jennifer Morgan – Norwood, Ashley Russell – Albemarle, Nia Scott – Charlotte, Kennedy Speights – Norwood, Samantha Stewart – Albemarle, and Brittany Wagner – Locust. Blended Learning Instructors for the program included Tessa Hartsell and Erika Haywood.

Students who completed the seated Nurse Aide program include the following: Angela McKee – Locust, Brittany Poplin – Albemarle, Emma Shue – Mt. Pleasant, Halee Smith – Monroe, Annette Teller – Mt. Gilead, Kathryn Tucker – Albemarle, and Lilly-Ann Wilhelm – Albemarle. Instructor for the program was Cindy Russell.

Students who successfully completed the seated Nurse Aide program include the following: Carmelita Eaton – Albemarle, Chatia Lilly – Ansonville, Stephanie Little – Marshville, Christie Richardson – Mt. Gilead, Brittany Swanigan – Charlotte, Melanie York – Monroe, and Katlyn Davis – Locust. Instructor for the program was Sheila Sikes.
