The Stanly Arts Guild, at 330-C N. Second St., Albemarle, is honoring the military with a Memorial Day exhibition.

The Norwood Museum and several local individuals have contributed many of the artifacts and materials on display. Featured items include prints of three Roger Thomas paintings, photos of local service personnel that were killed in action during various wars and military gear and clothing.

The exhibition is in honor of military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country, as well as the families they left behind. It is also to honor the sacrifices of all those that have served their country in military service during wartime, both living and deceased.

The exhibition will be up through June 5, and the public is invited to visit and view the display. May hours of operation are 12-4 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, 12-6 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. June hours of operation are 12-4 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
