The Albemarle City Council on Monday approved the preliminary plat for a six lot major subdivision off Anderson Road.

Olde South Land Partners, based in Charlotte, is proposing to subdivide a 3.5-acre parcel into six single-family lots. Earlier in the meeting, the council approved annexing 1.15 acres of the area into the city limits.

The council also approved rezoning the entire property into R-15 district, which would allow for single family residential lots with a minimum lot size of 15,000 square feet.

Albemarle’s Planning and Zoning Board, during its May 6 meeting, unanimously recommended City Council approve the preliminary plat.
