Tuesday, June 16, 1981

While Madelyn Efird made the news for winning the 1980 Miss Wheelchair North Carolina and being first runner-up for Miss Wheelchair U.S.A., Stanly County had another contender in 1981.

The Sunday school classes of First Baptist Church of Albemarle were sponsoring Elaine Yost of Albemarle for the North Carolina pageant planned for June 25-28 in Charlotte.

Yost was manager of the Kmart in Albemarle.
