Families in Badin are invited to First Baptist Church each Tuesday and Thursday this summer from 12:15-1:15 p.m. to pick up free lunches for kids and teens 18 and under. Meals will be distributed from the church parking lot, 201 Wayne St., while quantities last.
Rev. Dr. Anthony and Lady Christie Neal are pleased to announce the re-opening of in-person services beginning July 25 at 11 a.m. The church will host a homecoming service Aug. 1.
Badin UMC
Pastor Beau Linker and the people of Badin Methodist are hosting a community hot dog sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and July 3 at the church, 18 Hickory St. Come say hello and grab a tasty bargain lunch.
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist
Everyone is invited to the Midweek Praise Service at the church, 500 Sherman St., at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
Pastor Tavaris Johnson and First Lady Whitnei Johnson announce June 27 is Youth Sunday and the church is hosting a Carnival of Celebration from 12-4 p.m. at the church. Water slides, a bounce house and a dunking booth promise fun for everyone. Family, faith, friends and food will round out the festivities.
Palestine UMC
The prayer shawl ministry meets each Monday at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
Everyone is invited to in-person Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
Better Badin
A successful Tour of Homes this month has energized faithful Better Badin volunteers to continue planning other events and activities for the coming weeks.
Visitors and new members are welcome to attend the next meeting July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Loafers and Legends.
Movies on the Green
Better Badin, Inc. will host the first free movie night on Badin Green across from Town Hall on the evening of July 17. Food and beverages will be sold at the event to raise funds in support of Tho and Phoudone Naovaroth, owners of Tho Pizza & Hot Subs. The Naovaroths planned expansion at 38 Falls Road was halted after a fire gutted the interior space. Movie on the Green details will be available in the next Badin News.
Town Business
Limb and brush pickup is always the first Tuesday of each month. Please place debris curbside before 8 a.m. July 6.
Town Council’s next meeting is July 13 at 7 p.m. in the Badin Conference Center.
Badin Library
All adults are invited for fellowship and craft-making at Badin library on July 20 at 10:30 a.m. A small fee will be charged for materials.
Morrow Mountain
The boathouse is now open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Boat rentals end at 5 p.m. The pool and Kron House Road are closed for repairs.
