The town of Norwood parted ways with town clerk Kelly Caudle at a special meeting Friday afternoon.

After a closed-session meeting by the town’s council, Mayor Pro Tem James Lilly made the motion pursuant to Section 4.4 of the town’s charter.

“The board has decided that we are taking a different direction,” Lilly said.

Lilly made the motion to relieve Caudle of her duties immediately and to terminate her as the town’s clerk. Councilman Robbie Cohen seconded the motion, which passed 4-0. Councilwoman Betty Harrison was not in attendance at the meeting.

Caudle had worked for the town for nearly a decade, starting in 2013. She was an assistant clerk and became the town’s clerk in February 2016.

No other comments were made at the meeting regarding the board’s decision.
