Board

The Stanly County Commissioners Monday night approved a budget for 1981-82 based on a tax rate of 73 cents per $100 valuation, unchanged from the past year, and a property valuation of $764 million, $29 million more than the year before.

Heat

June was hottest June since the SNAP began keeping weather records in 1953. The average temperature for the month was 78.13 degrees.

The previous hottest June was 1956 with an average temperature of 76.3 and 1969 with 76.2.
