Organizers say few tickets remain for an event that is making its return this year.
Dinner On Main is scheduled for Sept. 18 in downtown Albemarle.
“We are currently at 93 reservations,” said Dr. Connie Eckman, one of the organizers of the event.
Dinner On Main features locally grown food in a setting at the corner of Second and Main streets, weather permitting.
This is the first time the event is planned for September, as the first several years it was in June. Last year’s meal was cancelled due to COVID-19.
“We wanted to change things up, and introduce a new variety of food in the fall,” Eckman said. “We will be working with local farmers to celebrate which foods are in season. Off the Square will be catering the event. Their venue is located just down the street from where Dinner on Main is set.”
Proceeds from Dinner On Main will benefit Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation.
“Two years ago (the last time the event was held) the Historical Society was the beneficiary,” Eckman said. “They were a great group to work with and the event was created to showcase what our beautiful downtown and community have to offer and the business and organizations within downtown.”
Reservations are being accepted, with tickets available by mid-August. To make a reservation, individuals can message their name, email or phone number to the Dinner On Main Facebook page or call Eckman at 704-983-2177.
Tickets are $75 and will include “an amazing, creative and savory meal. Beer and wine will be included,” Eckman said.
Only 120 tickets will be sold.
