Kelley Bigger, who has led the Stanly County Family YMCA as the youth and family director for the past 26 years, will be taking her talents to the membership department as the membership/marketing director, YMCA Chief Executive Officer George Crooker announced Monday.

Bigger started at the SCFY in 1994 as the childcare director, and during her tenure was promoted to family services director. She has created scores of
programs, as well as, raised the bar for programming in Stanly County, Crooker said.

“Kelley brings a wealth of knowledge about our Y to this position, and already has solid relationships with our members and staff,” Crooker said. “Her strong personality, wisdom, and creativeness along with her years of service will benefit us greatly. I am excited to see her take this position to a new level.”

Andy Lucas, Y Board chairman, added, “On behalf of the YMCA Board, we are very pleased one of our long-term employees with significant programming experience will be transitioning into this membership role. We appreciate Kelley’s commitment to the Y’s mission, and are very confident she will continue to deliver outstanding customer service.”

Bigger called the YMCA “an integral part of our community.”

“It is an honor to continue to be part of an organization that is dedicated to serving the needs and well-being of our neighbors,” Bigger said. “I look forward to further building strong relationships with members, as well as, sharing with others the benefits of joining our Y family.”
