Palestine UMC

Vacation Bible school is underway this week through Aug. 6. Dinner will be served nightly at 5:30. All ages are invited.

The church address is 36414 Palestine Road, Albemarle.

The community is invited to revival services Aug. 15-18 at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Homecoming services will be Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Badin UMC

The church’s summer hot dog sale continues each Saturday. Come by the church, 18 Hickory St., between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for lunch or a snack.

Better Badin

The next regular meeting of this community group is Aug. 9 at Loafers and Legends on Falls Road, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Members also need to RSVP for the Better Badin summer party planned for Aug. 18.

Town Council

The Council’s monthly meeting is Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Badin Conference Center. Visitors are welcome.

Badin Library

It’s Adult Craft Time again. Join friends and neighbors on Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m. A small fee is charged for supplies.

Morrow Mountain

Take a Relaxation Day Paddle on beautiful Lake Tillery Aug. 15. A ranger will lead the outing and help watch for wildlife. Meet at the Boathouse parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and bring a life jacket. A few life jackets are available for rent.

Celebrate National Dog Day during these dog days of summer on a dog friendly hike of the Mountain Loop Trail (0.8 mi.) from 10-11 a.m. Aug. 26. Ranger Early will lead the hike.

Badin Elementary
The school is holding the annual Open House on Aug. 19. Choose to attend between 7:30-9 a.m. or 5-7 p.m.

Stony Hill UMC

The church is collecting school supplies during August for Badin Elementary students.

Movies on the Green

A free showing of “Secondhand Lions” (PG) is being offered by Better Badin on the Badin Village Green Aug. 28.

Beverages will be sold beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the feature will start at 8 p.m.

Bring lawn chairs or blankets for this family-friendly event.

Badin Historic Museum

The books make great Christmas gifts for Badin residents and other history buffs, and will be sold for $30, plus a $5 shipping fee.
