In addition to a new Starbucks set to come to Locust, the sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s is also opening a sub shop, according to city officials.

They will both be part of an 8,000-square-foot plaza being built on the corner of N.C. Highway 24-27 and Redbridge Boulevard, according to Planning Director Scott Efird. Starbucks will be the anchor for the plaza along with Jersey Mike’s and two other stores, though Efird does not have any details about them.

The builder hopes to break ground the beginning of September, Efird said, and have the plaza completed by early January.
