Oakboro man faces multiple sex offenses with a minor

An Oakboro resident turned himself this week and faces multiple sex-related charges.
The Oakboro Police Department announced on Facebook this week the arrest of Dwayne Nance, an Oakboro resident, on multiple charges including: crimes against nature, sexual battery, indecent liberties with a child, statutory sex offense with a child under 15 and attempted sexual activity by a substitute parent or guardian.
According to the post, Oakboro PD had conducted a 10-month investigation of Smith, led by Sgt. Bryce Kaus.
Nance was placed under a $200,000 bond at the Stanly County Jail.
