Norwood Mayor Linda Campbell continued to show support for Town Administrator Scott Howard at Tuesday’s meeting of the town council.

During the public comment session, Norwood resident Brad Plummer accused Howard of blocking his attempt to get electricity to a property he owned.

Previously at the August meeting, Plummer and others accused Howard of improprieties towards female employees.

Later in the board comments section, Campbell mentioned the previous meeting where Howard “was accused of several things.”

Campbell asked a question to Robin Davis, the head of the Central Business Development Group in Norwood, about Howard.

“Ms. Davis, has Scott made you feel uncomfortable in any way?” Campbell asked.

“Absolutely not,” Davis said. “He is wonderful to work with. I feel the town of Norwood is quite lucky to have Mr. Howard. He has a great vision for this town and works day and night, as far as I can see. I’ve never had one issue with him, nor has anyone in my store.”

Campbell said “a lot of people on Facebook and in the town talk. This story gets told…I went straight to the horse’s mouth.”

Campbell said she met with Howard, and added that Howard’s wife was at the August meeting and Tuesday’s meeting.

“That was hard,” Campbell said.

The mayor said she has heard many compliments on the service provided in the office.

“I know we’ve had a lot of changes lately.”

Campbell also said the office has bright faces despite being fussed at all the time.

“Public service is hard.”
