LOCUST NEWS: City seeks vendors for festival
All area businesses (Locust, Midland, Stanfield, Red Cross, etc.) are invited to become vendors at the Locust Fall Festival. Contact either Pastor Tommy at First Baptist Church of Locust or Emily Jones at Locust Parks and Rec. They will send a Vendor Application Packet that explains guidelines as well as the procedures. This is a free way to promote your business in the community.
The festival will be Oct 31.
Remember to check out the vendors at Locust Farmers Market this summer. The market is open every Thursday through the end of summer. Join on the corner of Main Street and Vella Drive for locally grown produce and handmade crafts. The market will open at 11 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.
The West Stanly Senior Center has a wide variety of activities every day. They have fitness programs, crafts, book club, pool, card and board games.
Friday Night is Bingo night. It is open to everyone that likes to play. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bingo is at 6 p.m., with regular bingo at 7.
Locust Town Center monthly Cruise In will be Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.
First Baptist Church of Locust will observe homecoming Sept. 19. Rev. Kenny Wallace will be the speaker for the 11 a.m. worship service. There will be a homecoming meal following the service. First Baptist is at 320 S. Central Ave.
Greater Life Church
There will be a Car and Truck Show at Greater Life Church 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 25 at 103 Locust Ave., Locust.
Locust Presbyterian Church, 607 W. Main St., will celebrate homecoming on Oct. 3. Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be Rev. Rick Hoffarth. There will be a covered dish lunch following worship.
