First Baptist

Everyone is invited for worship in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. Sunday at 201 Wayne St. Masks are required, and temperatures will be checked.

Live streaming via Facebook will return Sunday.

Palestine UMC

The church is returning to outdoor Sunday worship. Bring lawn chairs and sit outside, or remain in cars and listen via radio.

Facebook live streaming will also be available.

The United Methodist Women’s meeting is Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Palestine Pals meets Oct. 12 at Rosebriar Restaurant at 11:30 a.m.

UMW Poor Man’s Supper will be Oct. 16 beginning at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Donations of cakes or pies are needed.

Badin Elementary

Weekend food bags for kids are being supplied by the following churches: Stony Hill UMC, Badin Baptist, Badin UMC, Palestine UMC, Palmer-ville Baptist, Anderson Grove Baptist, First Baptist New London and Prospect Baptist.

Anyone who wants to help provide items may contact any of these churches for more information. Individuals and other organizations are welcome to participate and may call Badin Elementary School at 704-961-3900.

Community Yard Sale

Fall’s a great time to buy and sell at the Better Badin Yard Sale Oct. 9 from 7 a.m. to noon. Spaces can be rented for $10, or items may be donated at Better Badin’s tent with proceeds going to Better Badin community projects. Sausage biscuits, coffee, water and juice will be available.

Better Badin

Better Badin, Inc. has a regular meeting Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Loafers and Legends on Falls Road.

The Better Badin Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. that same evening and all board members are asked to attend.

Tickets are now available for the David Mills Christmas Concert scheduled for Nov. 28. Please watch this column for more information.

Town Council

The council’s regular meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Badin Conference Center. Visitors are welcome to attend.

10 Days of Uwharrie

This popular outdoor festival returns to Badin this year Oct. 16-23 with multiple events. Run the Valley on Oct. 16 will be followed by a car show that day, Better Badin Fish Fry Oct. 17, Adult Crafting at the Library Oct. 19, Jazz & Wine Under the Stars at the 1913 Badin Inn Oct. 22 and the Best Dam Run Oct. 23.
