Christmas Parade

The City of Locust will host the 2021 Locust Christmas Parade at 1 p.m. Dec. 4. Registration deadline is Dec. 1.

The parade route will begin at the Lion Club Drive Parking Lot, make a left onto N.C. Highway 200, right onto Market Street, left onto Ray Kennedy Drive, right onto Town Center Drive, right at Sassy Cakes Bakery, left onto Harrison, left onto Kerri Dawn Lane, right onto Kingston Drive, right onto Smith Street and end back at the Lion Club Drive Parking Lot.

Locust resident’s second curb side leaf pick up will be Dec 11.

During this event, all leaves must be at curb/roadside and must only be leaves — no brush.
Please have your leaves accessible by 7 a.m. on the scheduled date and crews will work to get all collected as quickly as possible.

Light Up Locust

Register to have your home or display featured on the Light Up Locust Map. Eligible homes in the City of Locust may have their lights display featured on the map and website for residents to visit throughout December.

Participating homes will be entered to win a prize from Sassy Cakes Bakery.

To participate you must:

1. Live on a public street in Locust City Limits;

2. Be the primary resident of the home;

3. Have an appropriate holiday display on the exterior of your home;

4. Live on a street conducive for traffic flow. (Dead-end roads with no cul-de-sac, etc., may be excluded).

All participating homes will be entered to win a prize from Sassy Cakes Bakery. The winner will be drawn on Dec. 17.

Reindeer Bell Hunt

Help Santa’s reindeer find their bells. The reindeer were practicing when they lost their bells in Locust City Park. Each Saturday in December, new bells can be found in the park. Visit each week and find all nine bells.

Letters to Santa

Kids are invited to mail their letters to Santa using the special North Pole Express Mailbox in front of Locust City Hall Dec. 1-24.

Letters mails before Dec. 17 are guaranteed to receive a return letter from Santa himself.
