Montgomery County man dies in two-car collision

A Montgomery County resident was killed following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 52 and West Main Street in Albemarle Monday morning.

A 2020 Jeep Wrangler driven by 51-year-old Mitchell Morton was heading north on U.S. 52 shortly after 7 a.m. when it collided with a 2013 Honda Odyssey driven by 31-year-old Stanly County resident Asia Grady, who was traveling east on West Main, according to the Albemarle Police Department.

Morton died from his injuries, according to law enforcement. Grady was taken to the hospital and has since been treated and released.

The investigation is still ongoing.
