First Lutheran Church, 230 S. Second St., will be the host church for the 32nd Annual Community Christmas Dinner.

Free meals will be served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. For the second straight year, due to Covid-19 the meals will be distributed by drive-thru, this time using the portico located on West South Street, directly across the street from the new Albemarle Police Department.

Meals, catered by Tiffany’s At the Boardroom, will include carved turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a roll. Shawn and Laura Oke, owners of Albemarle Sweet Shop, will donate desserts for each meal.

The sponsoring churches each donated money to pay for the meals and made Christmas cards to go with each meal. Churches include Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Central United Methodist Church, Christ Episcopal Church, First Baptist Church, First Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church and Main Street Methodist Church.

Meals will also be delivered to public service workers at Albemarle Police Department, Albemarle Fire Department, Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, Stanly County EMS and 911 Center.
