Falcons fall on the road at Guilford

Guilford College shot a robust 55% from the floor and hit 10 three-pointers in a 95-60 nonconference men’s basketball win over Pfeiffer University at Ragan-Brown Fieldhouse in Greensboro, N.C. on Thursday night.

Pfeiffer (4-3) shot a dismal 39.1% (18-of-46) from the field and hit a season-low five three-pointers in the loss.

Guilford jumped out to a 50-30 lead at halftime and led by as many as 39 points in the second half en route to the 95-60 win.

Pfeiffer had two players score 10 points each in seniors Jerome Savoy (Waldorf, Md.) and Sean Scott (Waldorf, Md.).

Guilford had five players score in double-digits, with Liam Ward leading the way with 21 points.

Pfeiffer was scheduled to return to play Sunday with a road game at Division II Limestone University. However, it was announced today the game was postponed because of the Falcons’ opponents being in COVID-19 protocols.

Also, the Tuesday game at Methodist has been moved to Wednesday also for COVID protocols.
