BADIN/PALESTINE NEWS: Badin VFD will have a barbecue fundraiser

Badin Library

Adults can come for crafts and fellowship from 10:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday. The supply fee is $2. Take time also to choose a book or two.

Love Thy Neighbor group meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. The group will host a meal at the Community Table on Jan. 29 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Everyone involved with the Food Bag ministry for Badin Elementary School can help pack bags on Jan. 27 at 5 p.m. in the church basement. The Food Bags will be delivered to the school Jan. 28.

Badin VFD

The fire department’s first barbecue of the new year is Jan. 29 beginning at 11 a.m. For $8, platters may be purchased from a drive-through lane in the Alcoa parking lot on N.C. Highway 740 and Falls Road.

Anyone interested in volunteering with the Badin VFD is asked to contact the firehouse at 704-422-3614 or come to the weekly Thursday evening training sessions. No prior experience required.

Morrow Mountain

Board Game Night is planned for 5-6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the lodge. The park has nature-based games and participants may bring family-friendly board games. Masks will be worn indoors. Please register ahead of time with Ranger Ryan at ryan.

Come to the Lodge for Valentine Crafts on Feb. 5 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Snacks will be provided. Call 704-982-4402 for more information.

Mt. Zion Missionary

Bishop Tavaris Johnson invites everyone to a special Mortgage Burning Celebration on Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. at the church, 500 Sherman Ave. Sunday school will meet from 9-9:45 a.m. The church also holds Wednesday praise service and Bible study from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Badin Elementary

The school will host a blood drive on Feb. 18. More details will be available soon.
