As part of the county’s Parks and Recreations Grant Program, the town of Norwood’s grant request was approved unanimously by commissioners at last week’s meeting.

Norwood could not make the request in person at the meeting, County Manager Andy Lucas said, because of its meeting taking place at the same time.

Lucas said the request by Norwood was for $10,000 to go for the repaving of a multipurpose court. According to submitted documents, the court may be used for basketball, tennis, volleyball or pickleball.

The grant approval was the ninth approved by the commissioners. The grant period has now ended for municipalities.
